Dining with Diabetes
Tuesdays - October 5, 12, 19, 26 - 6:00 -7:30 pm
Dining with Diabetes is a national program designed for adults and delivered by the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension. This program is ideal for those:
with type 2 diabetes
who have prediabetes
who are family members, caregivers, or provides support for people with type 2 diabetes,
who want to learn more about managing and preventing type 2 diabetes.
The program teaches skills needed to identify and understand important information about managing this disease. Dining with Diabetes complements and does not replace other diabetes education and management programs. The program is composed of a series of four weekly, two-hour classes, and a three-month follow-up class.
Participants will learn:
menu planning
carbohydrate counting
portion control
label reading
healthy fats
the importance of fiber in managing diabetes
Note: Individual meal plans or guidance will not be provided.
