Through funding from the Maryland Department of Health, the Mid Shore Health Improvement Coalition is able to provide mini-grants to organizations who directly serve residents in Caroline, Dorchester and Kent counties to address overweight/obesity and diabetes among residents. Approximately $54,000 is available to organizations in the three counties. Mini-grant awards will range from $500-$5,000 per project.
Projects must address one or both of the following:
Establish or enhance a formalized walking group.
Establish or enhance a community garden at community centers, schools, public housing, places of worship, etc.
